I'm wound up. I can't sleep. I can't focus on my book. The gym is full of idiots and the lounge is too loud. I'd kill three sandworms for a hot bath right now.

Mission can't come soon enough.

Sure! It's mostly hand-to-hand, admittedly. The only weapons training I have is the kind of things people don't generally spar with.

Maybe I can order some proper training weapons with the next supply shipment. It should be easy enough, the UEA doesn't take wood very seriously.

It would still take a bit to get to us, but depending on what you need we could probably improvise with something in the meantime.

You'll start with the bo anyway so that will be as easy as finding some suitable metal. The sai and nunchucks could probably be 3D printed, but I like the feel of wood better. I guess you wouldn't know the difference so it wouldn't matter much.

There could still be some differences just from the difference of material. Weight, balance, durability... Besides. I've always found it best to learn with the same tools as the teacher.

Exactly. You'd be surprised how many people don't get that even after its explained to them.

One person I used to ~~date~~ know was a bit of a sword collector. He talked a lot about things like that.

The same is true for nearly anything. If I, say, 3D printed a violin, it would most likely be playable, to some degree, but the sound would be incredibly different.

I saw your violin made the trip in one piece by the way. You got lucky.

It did, yes. Needed a little tuning, at first, but everything is still in excellent condition. I'm incredibly thankful - I'm not sure I could repair it well enough to do it any justice, and sending it out for repairs just...isn't really a practical option.

You should play for me when we get back.

Now that I've gotten a little practice in, I'd love to.
